Certain animals resonate with me, Bulls, Whales, Birds. My interpretation of a bull is forged in bronze and delicately patinated. I’ve used traditional joinery here. Its testicles swing and I have it mounted on a copper plate with blue patina. Dimensions: height 34cm, width 43cm, depth 17cm.

Bronze Bull by Michael Calnan. “I have been working creatively with metal for over twenty years. My material of choice is bronze and the process I use is forging, which is to shape and work metal by heating and hammering. Earth wind water and fire as elements are essential in the making of the work. The world around me, animals, birds, music have a creative influence.”
